Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and bar admission required.
• Experience in law firms, government, military, or in-house counsel required (minimum 4 years).
• Strong expertise in data, cybersecurity, privacy or AI law preferred.
• Experience with US/global privacy regulations and Dodd-Frank Section 1033 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Counseling & Support: Provide proactive, business-minded legal support to cybersecurity and data stakeholders.
• Cybersecurity & Incident Response Support: Advise on cybersecurity operations, incident response readiness, and risk management.
• Enterprise Data & Risk Management: Identify and manage legal risks related to data use, privacy, emerging tech, and governance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and technical teams to craft practical solutions.
• Regulatory & Legislative Monitoring: Track cyber and data law developments to inform risk strategies.
• Disclosure & Reporting Support: Review regulatory filings and executive reporting related to cybersecurity and data.

Education

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

Active member in good standing of at least one state bar

4+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm environment, at a government agency, as a military judge advocate, or as in-house counsel

5+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm environment, at a government agency, as a military judge advocate, or as in-house counsel

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or Data Science

2+ years experience with AI and product development

Experience providing legal advice related to US and global privacy regulations

Experience providing legal advice related to Section 1033 of the Dodd-Frank Act
