Capital One seeks a Senior Counsel for Enterprise Data & Cyber to advise on AI, privacy, data governance, and cybersecurity within the Tech & Data Legal team. You will partner with cybersecurity, data, compliance, and product teams to mitigate risk and enable innovative technology initiatives across the enterprise.

This hybrid role requires a JD, bar admission, and 4+ years in a legal environment; US privacy and Dodd-Frank familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
• At least 4 years of attorney experience in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive, business-minded legal counsel to cybersecurity and data teams.
• Support cyber operations, incident response, and risk management with legal guidance.
• Identify and manage legal risks in data use, privacy, and emerging tech.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and technical teams on solutions.
• Monitor regulatory developments in cyber and data areas to inform decisions.
• Review disclosures, filings, and executive reporting related to cybersecurity and data.
