Job summary

Dow Inc. in Houston, TX, seeks a Senior Counsel for its Commercial & Innovation Law group to provide transactional legal support across Hydrocarbons, Feedstocks and Energy & Climate businesses.

You will draft and review contracts, identify legal risks, and advise on complex commercial arrangements to enable business growth. Ideal candidates hold a JD, 4+ years in-house or as a corporate/transactional attorney, and US bar admission, with proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws degree required.
• Minimum 4 years in-house counsel or corporate/transactional attorney experience.
• Admission to State Bar; must be eligible for admission.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Simplify and solve strategic-level legal challenges for global clients.
• Review and draft legal documents and identify potential risk in meetings.
• Host client legal training aligned with risk mitigation practices.
• Demonstrate team orientation, legal technology savviness, and strong negotiation skills.
• Collaborate with legal, business and non-legal colleagues across functions.
• Proactively communicate with legal leadership and clients.
• Delegate work to paralegals and staff to balance education and experience.
• Manage outside counsel and external resources per policy and risk.
