Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Senior Counsel in its Commercial & Innovation Law group in Houston, TX. The role focuses on transactional issues across hydrocarbons, feedstocks, energy and climate businesses, providing strategic legal counsel to Dow’s global teams.

You will review documents, manage risk, and train clients within an integrated Legal department. Qualified candidates have a JD or LL.M., at least four years of in-house or transactional practice, and U.S. bar admission or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws.
• Minimum 4 years practicing as in-house counsel or as a corporate/commercial/transactional attorney.
• Admission to State Bar or eligible for admission.
• U.S. based position requires ability to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Be a simplifier and solver of strategic-level legal challenges for clients in a global science and technology company.
• Review and draft legal documents, identify potential legal risk, and provide solutions to enable end customers.
• Host client legal training and education aligned with the Legal team curriculum and risk practices.
• Demonstrate teamwork, legal tech savviness, and strong negotiation and communication skills under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with a team of legal professionals, business clients, and non-legal colleagues across regions.
