Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks an Assistant Vice President and Senior Counsel within the Consumer Banking Legal team to serve as a trusted advisor to the business across 4800+ branches helping interpret and apply banking regulations.

You will handle matters relating to the National Bank Act, Regulations DD and E, and UDAAP, while collaborating with Legal, Risk and Compliance to support enterprise objectives.

Qualifications

• JD required and licensed to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction.
• 3+ years of legal experience in a top law firm, large in-house setting, or equivalent.
• Strong client relationship skills and ability to advise across lines of business.
• Willingness to learn and navigate core banking regulations quickly.

Responsibilities

• Develop subject matter expertise in National Bank Act, Regulations DD & E, UDAAP and related banking laws.
• Provide strategic legal advice to business areas handling branch licensing, notary and medallion services, safe deposit boxes, and digital deposits.
• Internalize risk appetite to advise on new business processes while ensuring fair treatment of customers and fortress controls.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Legal, Risk, Compliance and Controls.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise partners accordingly.
• Own issues from start to finish to support the business area.
