Job summary

Loop is seeking a Senior Counsel or Associate General Counsel to partner across our business and scale with the company. You will own a broad portfolio from commercial contracting to privacy and AI, payments, governance, and disputes, reporting to the General Counsel.

This is a broad, hands-on role designed for a strategist who builds templates, playbooks, and processes for a growing legal team. This in-person role is based in a US office (New York, Chicago or San Francisco) with the expectation

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and admission to a US state bar.
• 6+ years of legal experience with training at a law firm and/or in-house.
• Experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements (customers, vendors, data providers, platforms).
• Exposure across multiple practice areas (M&A, corporate, commercial, privacy & data, employment, or litigation).
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain terms and balance legal vs business needs.
• Startup or early-stage experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements to protect Loop's interests.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to identify and manage legal risk.
• Advise on privacy, data rights, regulatory compliance, and product development.
• Shape AI-related legal and regulatory approaches including data licensing and governance.
• Advise on payments & regulatory considerations for Loop's platform.
• Support corporate governance, board resolutions, equity and financing workstreams, and M&A diligence.
• Manage litigation, disputes, and regulatory matters with outside counsel.
• Support People and Talent on employment matters across jurisdictions.
• Develop scalable legal templates, playbooks, policies, and processes.
• Evaluate and oversee AI-powered legal tools in a compliant way.
