Job summary

Turner & Townsend in San Francisco is seeking a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team and support cost management across a diverse portfolio of construction projects. Working closely with clients, project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, you will help manage project budgets, commercial risks, and cost controls throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field.
• 5-7 years of cost management experience in construction.
• RICS accreditation preferred.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on procurement strategies and manage vendor prequalification processes.
• Develop and review project estimates, present estimates, and provide value engineering recommendations.
• Manage cost reporting, budgets, spend forecasts, and risk registers with clients and vendors.
• Oversee cost control processes, change orders, and contractor entitlements.
• Monitor invoicing processes and ensure timely payments.
• Benchmark project performance against industry standards.
• Lead final accounts, post-contract audits, and project closeout activities.
• Conduct post-contract reviews and document lessons learned.
• Develop handover procedures for successful transitions.
