Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Charlottesville, USA, is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management for complex Life Sciences construction projects. You will act as the day-to-day client interface, delivering value-added cost control across manufacturing, laboratory, and R&D facilities.

Responsibilities include estimating change orders, developing cost plans, reviewing with design teams and GC, reconciling data, preparing cost updates, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, or related field.
• 5–7 years of cost management experience in construction.
• RICS accreditation preferred.
• Experience on medium to high complexity projects.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop and present final cost plans.
• Review estimates with design teams and general contractor.
• Prepare cost updates and executive summaries.
• Manage cost checks, valuations, and post-contract variances.
• Mentor talent and lead project cost management activities.
• Ensure post-contract cost control and cost validation.
