Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management for retail construction projects and serve as the primary client interface. Strong communication and stakeholder skills are essential in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

The successful candidate will mentor teams, negotiate changes, develop cost plans, and provide reliable cost data to guide design and procurement decisions across programmes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, or a field related to construction.
• 5–7 years of relevant cost management experience in construction.
• RICS accreditation (preferred or working towards it).

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate changes throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Produce and present final cost plans and cost estimates.
• Review estimates with design teams and general contractors.
• Reconcile changes and ensure data accuracy for contractors.
• Prepare cost update communications and executive summaries.
• Coordinate cost information from NPA, subs, and designers/estimators.
• Lead cost checks, valuations, and post-contract cost variances.
• Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering.
