Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management on a large-scale data center program. You will interface with the client, deliver detailed cost plans, and drive procurement, change control, and cost reporting to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field.
• 5-7+ years in cost management/project controls in mission-critical environments (data centers, high-tech, industrial).
• Strong budgeting, financial reporting, cost control systems, and EVM experience.
• Procurement strategies and commercial management of contractor/vendor contracts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• RICS accreditation or progress toward certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates through design and delivery phases.
• Produce monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding data for stakeholders.
• Coordinate cost information from design teams, GC, subs, and vendors for robust validation and auditing.
• Compile built cost records for benchmarking and continuous improvement.
• Lead procurement strategy development and supplier pricing reviews.
• Manage final accounts and ensure timely agreement.
• Own change control across the lifecycle: estimate, negotiate, reconcile changes.
• Support cost risk analysis, scenario planning, and contingency management.
• Ensure robust cost control systems, including EVM where applicable.
• Integrate cost with schedule and scope with project controls teams.
• Lead VE initiatives and cost optimization strategies.
• Monitor market trends and provide timely insights.
• Act as primary client interface and ensure objectives are met.
