Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor for a major hyperscale data center project. The role is based in Chicago with regular travel to project sites including Minooka, IL.

You will lead cost management, prepare cost plans, and liaise with design teams, GC, and client to achieve objectives. The position emphasizes leadership, risk management, and delivering value through robust cost control and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or related field.
• RICS accreditation or working towards it is advantageous.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in cost management within construction.
• Experience in data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale infra projects preferred.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to high complexity projects.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate changes throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide cost planning and present final cost plans.
• Review estimates with design teams and GC; reconcile changes.
• Coordinate cost information from NPA, subs, and A/Es.
• Prepare monthly cost reports for client presentation.
• Negotiate final accounts and maintain cost validation processes.
