Job summary

Cumming Group in Aliso Viejo, CA is seeking a Cost Manager to oversee cost management services across a diverse portfolio of projects in education, commercial interiors, and semiconductors. You will lead estimates, review contracts, and build strong relationships with subcontractors and clients.

The role requires 3+ years post-degree experience in cost management and a BS in Construction, Cost & Commercial Management or related field; MRICS/AssocRICS/CCP or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction, Cost & Commercial Management or related field.
• More than 3 years of post-degree experience in cost management.
• Pursuing MRICS / AssocRICS / CCP or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop budget estimates by taking offs from plans and specifications or conceptual information.
• Review, interpret and define the scope of assigned work from project documents.
• Build up unit costs based on labor and material rate structures.
• Understand local market conditions and solicit feedback where applicable.
• Develop and nurture subcontractor/vendor and client relationships.
• Prepare and deliver summary analysis for assigned scope of work.
• Evaluate change orders and peer review of estimates.
• Assist with the continuous cost management process.
• Review, analyze, quantify, and assess change orders.
• Review and understand commercial contract terms.
• Participate in local industry events.
• Develop and implement risk and value management exercises on projects.
• Lead the development of estimates for projects under supervision of manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Attendance at work during normal business hours.
