HNTB Corporation in Downers Grove, IL is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead cost estimating for major infrastructure projects. The role involves developing independent cost estimates, supporting value engineering, and guiding price negotiations with clients and contractors.

You will mentor junior estimators, establish estimating standards, and collaborate with scheduling to align estimates with construction plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related degree; 9 years of relevant experience.
In lieu of education, 13 years of relevant cost-estimating experience.

Responsibilities

Oversees preparation of independent cost estimates and change orders.
Creates complex cost models for estimating elements.
Performs parametric order-of-magnitude estimating.
Analyzes specifications, drawings, bills of material or sample layouts and estimates costs for labor, material and equipment using pricing schedules and historical data.
Develops duration estimates of construction activities based on production rates.
Oversees quality control for quantity takeoffs and cost estimates; consults with clients, vendors, and departments.
Prepares bid estimates and supports procurement activities.
Sets up cost monitoring and reporting systems and prepares cost reports for teams.
