Job summary

Under general supervision, you’ll collaborate with scheduling to align estimates with construction timelines, revise estimates for management, and assist in negotiations with vendors and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field with 3+ years cost estimating experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 7 years relevant cost estimating experience.
• Experience with roadway or bridge projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes bid and design documents to produce detailed quantity takeoffs to support labor, equipment, and material cost development.
• Performs detailed cost estimates by means of operational analysis and past experience for productivity and cost development.
• Develops / builds direct and indirect estimates in estimating software with guidance.
• Prepares detailed breakdown of components and elements of estimates.
• Revises estimates and reports to management accordingly.
• Provides support in price negotiations.
• Obtains cost information for materials, equipment, and services.
• Collaborates with scheduling team to develop productivity-based cost estimates and align estimates to construction schedules.
• Reviews contractual documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and changes.
