Cumming Group is hiring a Senior Cost Controls Specialist to support Education sector projects in Los Angeles, CA. This highly visible role places you at the forefront of cost management on critical public facilities, delivering accurate cost estimates, subcontractor analysis, and contract oversight.

You will mentor junior staff, develop client relationships, and collaborate with management to grow the business while ensuring compliance with project requirements and local regulations.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction, Cost Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• 10+ years in Cost Management or Quantity Surveying with professional accreditation.
• Experience with public sector project types, including public educational facilities.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret and accurately estimate the scope of assigned work.
• Develop and nurture sub-contractor, vendor, and client relationships.
• Review and comment on contracts and participate in contract negotiation.
• Prepare sub-contractor analysis sheets for assigned scope of work.
• Evaluate changes and subcontractor change order estimates and provide expertise in all phases of construction work.
• Manage contract administration at the project level.
• Mentor associate level cost and commercial managers.
• Prepare project plans.
