Job summary

Cumming Group is seeking an Assistant Project Controls Specialist in San Diego, CA to support budget monitoring, forecasting, and cost control across education sector projects. You will work with project leaders and schedulers to identify variances and ensure data integrity in multiple systems.

The role requires 3–5 years in program/project controls within construction, a degree in a related field, and the ability to develop reports and participate in EAC discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in program or project controls on a construction program.
• Experience through the entire project life cycle; knowledge of cost/schedule management and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring the project budget and forecast per SOPs.
• Participate in monthly EAC meetings to review current EACs and justify variances.
• Assist in cost variance analysis to identify trends and mitigate budget impacts.
• Review and analyze budget vs. expenditures across funding sources.
• Collaborate with schedulers to review cost/schedule performance for overruns/underruns.
• Develop standard and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
