Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Project Cost Controls Analyst to support data-driven financial analysis and forecasting across utility-scale solar, battery storage, and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

The role offers a fully remote option within the West Region or a hybrid setup with regular in‑office presence in San Diego, CA. You will build cost forecasts, develop internal controls, and present executive-ready insights to project teams and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related analytical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in project controls, FP&A, or data-driven roles.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI, Python and/or SQL is highly preferred.
• Highly effective communicator who can translate complex data into business terms for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project-level cost forecasts with cross-functional teams.
• Lead monthly cost performance reporting and variance analyses.
• Develop internal controls over financial reporting to ensure SOX compliance.
• Forecast future project cost using analytics models.
• Assist with budget mapping across the department.
• Analyze performance trends and drivers of variance.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather cost data and insights.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Synthesize data into executive-ready storylines and decks.
• Translate variance drivers into business narratives for leadership.
• Engage in field improvements and build trust with project teams.
• Identify risks and run scenario planning for contingency.
• Present data-driven insights to cross-functional partners.
• Define metrics to manage project health and continuous improvement.
• Lead data quality audits and resolve discrepancies.
