Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Project Cost Controls Analyst to deliver data-driven financial and strategic analysis across solar, storage, and substation projects. This role is fully remote with periodic site travel up to 25%.

You will build and maintain cost forecasts, support SOX controls, and develop analytics to guide executive decisions, while collaborating with project teams to identify cost savings and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
• 1–3 years in project controls, FP&A, or data-driven roles; Excel mastery; Power BI, Python, SQL preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to present to senior leaders.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Travel as needed to fulfill responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project-level cost forecasts with cross-functional teams; lead monthly cost reporting.
• Develop internal controls to support SOX compliance.
• Forecast costs using analytics models and historical data.
• Assist with budget mapping and ensure departmental fiscal accuracy.
• Analyze variance drivers across cost, schedule, and resources.
• Perform root-cause analyses and propose mitigation actions.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Create executive-ready decks highlighting trends and recommendations.
• Translate variance drivers into business narratives for leadership.
• Engage in field improvements and field data collection.
• Identify risks using historical data and benchmarks; conduct scenario planning.
• Convey data-driven stories to technical/non-technical audiences.
• Define metrics to manage project health and enable improvement.
• Lead data quality audits and resolve discrepancies.
• Contribute analytics to lessons-learned and portfolio reports.
