Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Project Cost Controls Analyst to deliver data-driven financial analysis across solar, storage, and high voltage substation projects. The role can be fully remote within the West Region or hybrid, with in-office presence in San Diego, CA.

You will build forecasts, monitor cost drivers, and provide executive-ready insights to steer project decisions. As a key member of the cost controls team, you will implement analytics models, support SOX controls, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant analytical field.
• 3–5 years in project controls, FP&A, or data-driven roles.
• Proficiency in Excel; Power BI, Python and/or SQL preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured modeling approach.
• Effective communicator who can translate data for senior leadership.
• Data management skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to build professional presentation decks that influence decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project-level cost forecasts with cross-functional teams.
• Lead monthly cost performance reporting, variance analyses, and executive-ready insights.
• Contribute to internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance).
• Develop analytics models to forecast project cost based on history and parameters.
• Assist with budget mapping and ensure fiscal accuracy across the department.
• Analyze performance trends and drivers of variance in cost, schedule, and resources.
• Perform root-cause analyses on deviations and inform mitigation actions.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather cost data and identify trends.
• Identify cost savings opportunities and process improvements.
• Translate complex data into clear business narratives for leadership.
