Job summary

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is seeking an Associate Cost Manager to own budgets across Museum projects, manage change orders, and provide cost engineering and billing review support. You will collaborate with Finance, Project Management, and outside architects/GCs to keep budgets and billing audit-ready.

Candidates should have 5+ years in cost consulting on large capital projects, strong AIA/G702/G703 knowledge, and proficiency in Workday and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years cost consulting on institutional or heavy construction projects (museum/healthcare/higher-ed a plus).
• Strong knowledge of AIA billing procedures (G702/G703) and change orders.
• Construction finance, fund accounting, and financial reporting experience.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Workday.

Responsibilities

• Own budget development and tracking across museum projects.
• Lead end-to-end change order management and cost analysis.
• Review AIA pay applications and negotiate pricing changes.
• Coordinate with vendors, procurement, and project teams for cost control.
• Maintain documentation and financial reporting for audit readiness.
• Support staffing and headcount cost decisions with financial modeling.
