Job summary

The Metropolitan Museum of Art seeks a strategic finance partner to lead budgeting, financial planning, and reporting for assigned departments in New York. You will oversee the annual budget, forecast trends, and provide financial guidance to leadership, ensuring strong internal controls and efficient procurement.

Collaborate with HR and department heads to drive performance, create transparent reporting, and maintain compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• 4 years in administrative or management function with financial focus.
• Strong knowledge of finance, fund accounting, and reporting.
• Ability to influence in a complex institutional environment.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasts, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee annual operating budget development and financial planning.
• Perform variance analysis and reforecasting during the year.
• Own departmental P&L, conduct cost/benefit analyses, ensure strong financial practices.
• Oversee procurement from requisition to receipt and P-card program.
• Collaborate with HR on processes and position management.
• Ensure clear cross-team communications and workflows.
