Job summary

Cobalt Recruitment is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to oversee cost management and project controls on major construction projects in New York. You will work with Project Management, Operations, and Executive Leadership to drive cost predictability and protect project profitability from preconstruction through closeout.

Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, change order management, and financial reporting using Procore.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of cost management, project controls, and construction financial management.
• Experience managing financial controls for NYC multifamily, mixed-use, or municipal projects over $100M.
• Strong understanding of GMP contracts, forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, change order management, procurement processes, and project risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead project cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-to-complete analysis.
• Develop and maintain monthly forecasts and Anticipated Cost Reports.
• Track and monitor project budgets, commitments, change orders, PCCOs, and EFCs using Procore.
• Monitor project performance, commitments, contingency, buyout savings, and potential cost exposures.
• Lead change order and change event management, including pricing, scope, contractual, and schedule impacts.
• Identify financial risks and work with project leadership on mitigation strategies.
• Review subcontractor commitments, requisitions, payment applications, and contract modifications.
• Prepare financial reporting and provide insight to Executive Leadership on project performance and risk.
• Support project closeout and maintain historical cost data for future benchmarking.

A leading General Contractor is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to oversee cost management and project controls across major construction projects valued at $25M–$250M+.

This position willplay a key role in project cost management, budget forecasting, risk management, and executive decision-making. Working closely with Project Management, Operations, Accounting, and Executive Leadership, the Senior Construction Cost Manager will drive cost predictability, strengthen forecasting, manage financial risk, and protect project profitability from preconstruction through closeout.

Responsibilities

• Lead project cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-to-complete analysis.
• Develop and maintain monthly financial forecasts and Anticipated Cost Reports.
• Track and monitor project budgets, issue commitments, subcontractor change orders, prime contract change orders (PCCO’S), pending commitments, and Estimated Future Commitments (EFC’s) using Procore.
