Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our growing, employee-owned team delivering complex, project-based initiatives nationwide. The role focuses on job costing, revenue recognition, and detailed financial analysis for construction and engineering programs.

The successful candidate will partner with Project Managers and Finance leadership, lead cost-to-complete reviews, and help improve cost accounting processes while traveling to regional offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting or financial management experience, construction/project-based preferred.
• Experience with revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Strong job costing, project financials, and variance analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project costs, budgets, and financial performance for accurate financial statements.
• Perform job costing and variance analysis; identify trends and risks.
• Prepare and review cost-to-complete/CAC reporting on a weekly basis.
• Support revenue recognition and project forecasting activities.
• Produce financial reporting for Finance and executives.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and operations to resolve costing issues.
• Identify financial risks and communicate findings to Finance leadership.
• Prepare backlog, budget, and other operational reports.
• Assist with development and maintenance of cost accounting processes and systems.
• Support internal audits and financial reviews; assist with bids and proposals.
• Travel to regional offices for month-end reviews and training on procedures.
