Job summary

Findorff, a longtime Wisconsin construction partner, seeks a Project Cost Accountant to support financial success across projects. You will work with Project Managers and teams to deliver accurate cost reporting, billing support, and analytical insights throughout project lifecycles.

You’ll collaborate closely with accounting and operations to monitor costs, forecast performance, and identify savings opportunities while ensuring audit-ready records and compliant billing practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cost accounting, project accounting, audit, or construction accounting experience.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Experience with CMiC is a plus.
• Located in or willing to work from Madison, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Support project financial performance by monitoring job costs and forecasting financial performance.
• Perform monthly job cost reviews and analyze cash flow to provide insights.
• Drive billing and contract administration, review change orders and maintain billing documentation.
• Maintain financial accuracy through journal entries, budget reviews, and cost allocations.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, and Accounting to support project execution.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and document system enhancements.
