Job summary

Talentify in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Sr. Cost Accountant to manage cost accounting, inventory control, and budgeting within a manufacturing environment. You will analyze product costs, prepare standard cost models, and support month-end closes with strong ERP experience.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in cost accounting, deep inventory knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. Experience with SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards/NetSuite is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing or distribution.
• Experience with standard costing and inventory accounting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze product costs, variances, and operating expenses.
• Prepare and maintain standard cost calculations and cost models.
• Monitor inventory transactions and perform reconciliations.
• Evaluate labor, material, and overhead costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist with month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Collaborate with operations to improve cost visibility and profitability.
• Participate in physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, controls, and company policies.
• Assist audits and special financial projects.
