Job summary

A Sr Cost Accountant role in the Chattanooga, TN area is available through Aston Carter. You will own standard costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing variance analysis, and cost-related reporting, partnering with Operations, Engineering and Sourcing to improve profitability and financial visibility across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of cost accounting in manufacturing, strong analytical skills, proficiency with ERP systems, and a solid grasp of U.S. GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Lead annual standard cost updates and periodic cost reviews.
• Maintain BOMs and routings with Engineering and Operations.
• Investigate and resolve product cost discrepancies and system inaccuracies.
• Manage month-end close for inventory and COGS with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare profitability analyses and variances; support pricing decisions.
