Vaco by Highspring seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to lead product costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation within a manufacturing environment. You will collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure accurate costs and reporting.

The role requires advanced Excel skills, a strong understanding of standard costing and inventory accounting, and ERP system collaboration. Responsibilities include month-end close, cost structure reviews, and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Three or more years of cost accounting experience in construction/manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing and inventory accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze large datasets and reconcile accounts.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills with audit support experience.
• Ability to challenge data, identify trends, and drive corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review month-end journal entries related to cost transactions.
• Reconcile inventory balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules.
• Maintain and analyze product costing (labor, overhead, machine rates).
• Analyze manufacturing variances (materials, labor, overhead, purchase price, production) and propose solutions.
• Ensure accurate work and production costing; monitor inventory valuation, WIP, and manufacturing absorption accounts.
• Serve as a key finance resource for costing, inventory, and production in the ERP system; review cost structures and postings for accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure manufacturing costs are reflected in financial reporting; support internal and external audits.
