Job summary

Century Group is partnering with a manufacturing client in Alameda County, CA to recruit a Senior Cost Accountant responsible for cost accounting, inventory analysis, and financial reporting. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment.

Expertise in cost and inventory accounting, GAAP, and strong Excel/ERP skills (NetSuite) are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of accounting experience in a corporate/manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting and GAAP.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar).
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and support month-end, forecasting, and budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

Manage cost accounting activities, including inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting for manufacturing operations.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close to ensure accurate records.
Monitor inventory transactions, investigate discrepancies, and communicate variances to management.
Lead physical inventory processes: planning, coordination, reporting, and reconciliation of results.
Partner with operations, tax, finance, and leadership to provide financial analysis and decision-support.
