Job summary

Century Group is partnering with a manufacturing client in Alameda County, CA to recruit a Senior Cost Accountant responsible for cost accounting, inventory analysis, and financial reporting. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment.

Expertise in cost and inventory accounting, GAAP, and strong Excel/ERP skills (NetSuite) are essential.

Qualifications

• Lead physical inventory processes: planning, coordination, reporting, and reconciliation of results.
• Partner with operations, tax, finance, and leadership to provide financial analysis and decision-support.

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $115,000 to $125,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage cost accounting activities, including inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting related to manufacturing operations.

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month end close activities to ensure accurate financial records.

Monitor inventory transactions, investigate discrepancies, and communicate significant variances or issues to management.

Lead physical inventory processes, including planning, coordination, reporting, and reconciliation of inventory results.

Partner with operations, tax, finance, and leadership teams to provide financial analysis, reporting, and decision making support.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

5+ years of accounting experience within a corporate or manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and general accounting principles.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting or ERP systems.

Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and support month end, forecasting, and budgeting processes.

Qualifications:

Previous experience with manufacturing operations, inventory management, and cost analysis.

Familiarity with NetSuite or similar enterprise accounting systems.
