Job summary

Century Group is partnering with a client to fill the Senior Cost Accountant role. This position focuses on cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting for a manufacturing environment, with a starting base salary of $115,000 to $125,000 per year.

You will lead month-end processes, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and collaborate with operations and leadership to drive cost improvements and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in corporate or manufacturing.
• Strong cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage cost accounting activities, including inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting related to manufacturing operations.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month end close activities to ensure accurate financial records.
• Monitor inventory transactions, investigate discrepancies, and communicate significant variances or issues to management.
• Lead physical inventory processes, including planning, coordination, reporting, and reconciliation of inventory results.
• Partner with operations, tax, finance, and leadership teams to provide financial analysis, reporting, and decision making support.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience within a corporate or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and general accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting or ERP systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and support month end, forecasting, and budgeting processes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with manufacturing operations, inventory management, and cost analysis.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar enterprise accounting systems.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
