Job summary

Vaco seeks a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team and drive product costing, variance analysis, work order costing, and inventory valuation in a manufacturing setting. You will partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve cost data and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities include month-end close for cost transactions, inventory reconciliation, and maintaining standard costing accuracy while supporting audits and financial reviews.

Qualifications

• Requires cost accounting experience in a manufacturing/construction setting.
• Strong understanding of standard costing and inventory accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills with large datasets and reconciliations.
• Experience supporting audits and financial reviews.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review month-end journal entries for all cost transactions.
• Reconcile inventory balance sheet accounts and maintain schedules.
• Maintain and analyze product costing including labor, overhead, and machine rates.
• Analyze variances (material, labor, overhead, purchase price, production) and propose solutions.
• Ensure accurate work and production costing.
• Monitor inventory valuation, WIP, and manufacturing absorption accounts for accuracy.
• Serve as a finance resource for costing, inventory, and production in ERP system.
• Review cost structures, inventory transactions, and postings for accurate reporting.
• Ensure manufacturing costs are reflected in financial reporting.
• Support internal and external audits.
