Job summary

Vaco is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on month-end close, fixed asset accounting, and cost analysis within a manufacturing environment.

You will prepare detailed reports, conduct variance analysis, and support budget and forecast processes. Ideal candidates have a BS in Accounting/Finance, 3–5 years of manufacturing cost accounting experience, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• BS degree in accounting or finance required; CPA and/or MBA a plus.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience with cost accounting, reporting, and variance analysis.
• Strong Excel skills; proficiency with Business Objects, HFM, FAS and JDE or other ERP systems.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational and communication skills; able to handle time pressure in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the month-end close process, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports (gross margin, productivity, operational spend, daily shipments and orders).
• Provide financial analysis to support departments and development of productivity, cash flow, and EBIT projects.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting (capitalization, depreciation, disposals, CIP).
• Track Construction in Progress and monitor against approved capital spending.
• Maintain IFRS inventory valuations and annual plant-wide cost roll; coordinate annual physical inventory.
• Assist in annual budget and quarterly forecasts; contribute to strategic planning and operational objectives.
• Analyze budgets and forecasts; report variances, trends and control standards to senior leadership.
