Job summary

AV is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant in the San Diego area to oversee cost expenditures, analyze process constraints, and support margin analysis. The role partners with Operations, Planning, and Supply Chain to identify root causes of variances and drive continuous improvement in cost control.

The successful candidate will have 8–12 years in finance/cost accounting within aerospace manufacturing, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and experience with Fusion/Oracle ERP and BI reporting

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field is required or equivalent.
Minimum 8–12 years in Finance, General Accounting or Cost Accounting in aerospace manufacturing.
Working knowledge of GAAP.
Advanced MS Excel experience is required.
ERP systems knowledge (Fusion preferred) and related reporting tools.

Responsibilities

Drive accounting processes in the plant to ensure accurate books and SOX compliance.
Act as financial advisor to Operations management and support performance measurement.
Collaborate across departments to trace and resolve inventory and cost variances.
Lead cross-functional meetings with Operations, SCM, and PLM for continuous improvement.
Monitor inventory and cost data and investigate variances for proper financial reporting.
Build dashboards and cost models in Oracle Fusion; understand ERP impact on cost behavior.
