Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC seeks a Senior Cost Accountant for a manufacturing client in Athol, MA. The role centers on cost tracking for complex aerospace/defense projects and ASC 606 revenue recognition.

You will partner with senior finance and operations to analyze WIP, labor, materials, and margins, supporting monthly closes and driving cost controls and reporting improvements. A Bachelor's in Accounting and 5+ years in accounting are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, with 3+ in manufacturing or cost accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Knowledge of ASC 606 and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition is desirable
• Strong GAAP knowledge and manufacturing accounting practices

Responsibilities

• Oversee cost accounting and financial tracking for manufacturing contracts and projects
• Calculate and record percentage-of-completion revenue under ASC 606
• Evaluate WIP balances, direct labor, material costs, and variances
• Collaborate with production teams on spending, margins, and financial performance
• Analyze financial statements and ensure accurate recognition of costs and revenue
• Contribute to monthly closes, GL reconciliations, and reporting improvements
• Recommend enhancements to costing procedures and reporting efficiency
