LHH Recruitment Solutions partners with a well-established manufacturing organization in Edina, Minnesota to recruit a Senior Cost Accountant for its Finance team. This newly created role supports multiple facilities, partners with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leadership, and focuses on inventory, costing, forecasting, and operational decision support.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of manufacturing cost accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills, with ERP

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing cost accounting or related manufacturing finance experience.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, inventory valuation, and cost accounting principles.
• Experience supporting manufacturing plants and partnering with operations teams.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle experience preferred.
• Exposure to reporting and analytics tools such as Tableau, Access, or similar platforms preferred.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary cost accounting partner supporting manufacturing operations.
• Manage inventory accounting, valuation, reconciliations, and physical inventory processes.
• Prepare and analyze material, labor, and overhead variances.
• Partner with plant leadership to provide actionable financial insights and recommendations.
• Support monthly close activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Contribute to annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
• Analyze manufacturing performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve financial and operational results.
• Support reporting enhancements, process improvements, and special projects.
• Assist with inventory transaction flow analysis and materials reporting.

The successful candidate will play a key role supporting multiple manufacturing facilities while working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leadership.
