Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Wisconsin is seeking a shift supervisor to lead daily operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery and cost. You will be the first point of contact for operators facing mechanical or production issues and will coordinate activities across departments to meet goals in a cost-efficient manner.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Management, Engineering or Operations Management.
• 3+ years of corrugator/converting supervisory experience is required.
• Experience in Lean environments and Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification is preferred.
• Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to coach and train employees and lead cross-functional teams.
• Flexible to work multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day shift operations with emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Serve as first point of contact for operators on mechanical or production issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and enforce control procedures.
• Coordinate production activities with other departments to meet goals cost-effectively.
• Monitor production to eliminate waste and adhere to schedules.
• Input production data to measure KPIs on efficiency, downtime, inventory and production.
• Provide recommendations to improve safety and environmental health.
• Produce daily shift reports and review if daily goals are met.
• Manage staffing: recruiting, orientation, training and performance reviews.
• Direct maintenance for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
