Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in correctional, security, military, or police work preferred.
• Certification by the SCDC Training Academy within six months of entry.

Responsibilities

• Supervise security personnel and inmate housing unit operations.
• Conduct inspections for security, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Investigate misconduct by inmates and staff.
• Assist in formal and informal counts and supervise evaluations.
• Counsel, train staff to performance standards and prepare reports.
• Perform Shift Lieutenant duties when needed.
