The State of South Carolina Department of Corrections is seeking a supervisory security professional to oversee inmates and staff in housing units. You will supervise security personnel, perform inspections, conduct investigations, assist in counts, and prepare evaluations and reports.

Eight weeks of SCDC Basic Training are required on hire. A high school diploma with relevant experience is required; a related degree may substitute for experience.

Competenze

• Must complete eight weeks of SCDC Basic Training on hire.
• High school diploma and relevant experience required; a related degree may substitute for experience.
• SCDC supervisory training to be completed within six months of entry.

Mansioni

• Supervise subordinate security assigned to housing units.
• Inspect living areas for security, safety and sanitation standards.
• Conduct investigations of alleged misconduct by inmates and staff.
• Assist in conducting formal and informal inmate counts.
• Supervise job performance and prepare employee evaluations.
• Counsel and train subordinate staff to required standards; recommend disciplinary action.
• Prepare reports as needed.
