Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive experience supervising corrections staff.
• Extensive and progressive security management experience in corrections or law enforcement.
• DCJS Certification required.
• Knowledge of VADOC policies, procedures, and practices.
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems effectively.
• Ability to lead, develop and counsel staff.
• Strong communication with all levels of staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Direct activities of Security, Treatment, Medical, Safety and Food Service departments.
• Oversee daily operations in the absence of the Warden.
• Provide leadership and supervision to department heads and staff.
• Develop security and contingency plans; participate in long-term planning.
• Interact with inmates, staff, management, and the public to maintain safe operations.
