Job summary

The position entails planning and directing subordinate work, enforcing rules, and ensuring safety while managing posts and coverage. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with five years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of full-time or equivalent experience in corrections or related field.
• Ability to pass required examinations and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shift or unit within a correctional facility as a Lieutenant.
• Plan, review, and direct the work of subordinates and perform related administrative duties.
• Identify posts and ensure adequate coverage for safety and security.
• Conduct, supervise, and/or evaluate inquiries or investigations and take appropriate action.
• Oversee inmate movement, interactions with staff and visitors to maintain orderly operations.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
