Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have two years of experience in corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice or related social work.
• Substitution options include an Associate's degree for six months of experience or a Bachelor's degree for one year of experience.
• Must be twenty-one years of age and possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assigns correctional sergeants and officers in daily duties.
• Plans shift coverage for facility operation.
• Investigates reported occurrences and submits written reports.
• Serves as shift supervisor in the absence of the Correctional Captain.
• Monitors expenditures for staff compensation, overtime, and maintenance.
• Responds to emergencies and completes investigations (disciplinary, theft, grievances).
• Ensures timely completion of reports and conducts evaluations.
• Maintains ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
