Job summary

THE SEVEN US, INC. in Los Angeles seeks a hands-on Corporate Operations & HR Manager to lead back-office functions including HR, payroll, labor compliance, facilities, and governance.

You will manage vendors, drive SOPs, and serve as the primary liaison for employees and executive leadership in a fast-growing studio environment. The role requires 5+ years in US HR and labor compliance (CA), fluent English, and experience with entertainment/startup back offices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on HR, labor compliance, and general affairs experience in the US (California experience strictly required).
• Deep knowledge of CA labor laws (Wage Orders, OT/breaks, AB 5 / ABC Test worker classification).
• Vendor management: directing external vendors (payroll, brokers, IT) and building SOPs from scratch.
• Self-directed with attention to detail, balancing compliance and hands-on execution.
• Fluent English; business-level Japanese welcomed for liaison with the parent company.

Responsibilities

• Payroll & Benefits: finalize payroll data via HCM systems and manage insurance, 401(k), and Open Enrollment.
• HR & CA Compliance: ensure CA labor law compliance and handle onboarding/offboarding, personnel records, and performance reviews.
• Facilities & Risk: manage day-to-day office ops, coordinate IT MSPs, and oversee office relocation projects; manage Cal/OSHA safety compliance and insurance renewals.
• Governance & Liaison: manage CLM notice periods to avoid auto-renewals; coordinate corporate filings and align US ops with the Japanese parent.
