Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Senior Event Manager to lead complex, multiday programs for a major enterprise client. You will own budgeting, supplier coordination, and onsite execution for audiences of 500+ with budgets over $1 million.

Your role includes mentoring Event Managers and ensuring risk is addressed early. Based on the Experience Studio, you will work closely with producers to convert briefs into actionable plans, manage calendars, and drive client satisfaction

Qualifications

• Seven+ years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives with full program responsibility.
• Experience managing programs with budgets above $1 million.
• Portfolio includes multiday executive programs and audiences of 500+.
• Experience as the planning lead beside a producer or senior client event owner.
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills including attrition and F&B minimums.
• Strong command of Cvent and enterprise tools.
• Ability to manage multiple programs at different stages and flag risk early.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff to onsite, including multiday executive events and audiences of 500+ attendees.
• Partner with the producer to turn briefs into deliverable plans and flag potential cost/time impacts.
• Build and reconcile program budgets with forecasts, change control, and supplier commitments.
• Create and maintain the detailed planning calendar and keep teams to dates.
• Manage hotels, venues, transportation, F&B, and destination partners.
• Coordinate registration and attendee communications in the client’s Cvent instance.
• Run onsite logistics with teams and VIP movements during travel weeks.
• Mentor Event Managers and review plans and budgets across programs.
• Document decisions and prepare post-program debrief recommendations.
• Raise scope, budget, and resourcing risks early to the producer and Studio Ops Manager.
