Job summary

Thermo Fisher is seeking a senior Corporate Development professional to advance inorganic growth initiatives across its global units. You will lead financial modeling, due diligence, and strategic case development for leadership buy-in, while guiding multi-project execution and competitive analyses.

You will interact with senior executives, coordinate cross-functional teams, and help drive high-stakes acquisitions and divestitures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, science, or a technical field
  • 4+ years of experience in M&A or Strategic Planning involving acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other investments, or equivalent experience at a premier investment banking, consulting, or accounting firm
  • Alternatively, an MBA with undergraduate degree and a minimum of 3 years of previous corporate development/M&A experience
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of valuation principles and fundamentals of financial statement analysis
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills
  • Excellent facility in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills
  • Capacity for learning quickly in a dynamic, intensive environment
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency leading and prioritizing multiple projects
  • Ability to interact with senior executives and handle high-pressure settings with confidence
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude

Responsibilities

  • Support M&A strategy objectives, including developing and tracking acquisition opportunities and all phases of transaction execution
  • Participate in teams evaluating M&A opportunities and divestitures

  • Perform and lead due diligence processes
  • Support transaction execution
  • Facilitate integration planning as required
  • Perform industry and competitive research to support senior leaders
  • Analyze industry dynamics and the competitive landscape for valuation purposes
  • Analyze company SEC filings, Wall Street research, and market reports
  • Support special projects connected with the Corporate Development team’s goals and strategy
  • Work as part of a high-profile team developing and executing inorganic growth strategies for Thermo Fisher business units worldwide
  • Provide related competitive intelligence for senior management
