Job summary

AssetMark is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Counsel to serve as a trusted advisor to executives across the organization. This hybrid role partners with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Information Security to provide practical, business-minded counsel on a broad range of matters, from complex contracts to strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, clear communication, and extensive experience in technology transactions and data-related issues, with a focus on multi-state

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and current US bar admission.
• Minimum five years of relevant legal experience in corporate settings or law firm.
• Experience in financial services or regulated industries preferred.
• Experience advising a dispersed workforce on multi-state employment-law issues preferred (India law a plus).

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-focused legal counsel to senior leadership and business functions.
• Review and negotiate complex commercial contracts and enterprise technology agreements.
• Advise on data licensing, privacy, cybersecurity, and data-use ownership issues.
• Guide Employment/L People and Culture matters including policy interpretation and multi-state law considerations.
• Develop and refine legal processes, templates, and best practices across the organization.
• Supervise and mentor paralegals and legal support staff.
