Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to provide expert legal guidance on corporate strategies and their execution. You will supervise the legal department, coordinate with outside counsel, and support government investigations, including employment matters and IP concerns.

The role requires a law degree and Louisiana bar admission, with at least ten years in a corporate legal setting, and experience in labor, IP, and governance-related issues.

Qualifications

• Law degree.
• Admitted to Louisiana bar.
• Minimum of ten years' experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
• Experience in labor and employment law.
• Experience with intellectual property rights and related laws.
• Experience working with law firms and assets in foreign jurisdictions and with contracts and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on corporate policies and strategic initiatives.
• Advise on business transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
• Assist General Counsel and Director of Contracts on contracts matters.
• Assess merits of major cases, investigations and approve settlements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Manage outside counsel and experts; supervise staff including paralegals.
• Support training, policies, handbooks, investigations and related matters.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by General Counsel.
