Job summary

Munich Re America Services (MRAS) seeks a Deputy General Counsel to lead U.S. legal work for acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate governance across Munich Re American Reinsurance and MRAS entities.

The role reports to executive leadership and partners with Compliance on governance and risk controls. The role requires two days per week in Princeton, NJ, with direct oversight of MRAS regional Enterprise Transactions, Privacy, and Reinsurance functions.

Qualifications

JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; in-house licensing eligible.
10–15+ years’ experience in U.S. (re)insurance or insurance.
Proven ability to advise senior executives and manage regulatory interactions.

Responsibilities

Lead U.S. legal work for acquisitions, divestitures, integration and service orders.
Oversee due diligence, antitrust, and regulatory filings; coordinate with Group Compliance & Legal.
Provide strategic legal guidance on corporate governance for Munich Re America entities.
Lead legal support for Reinsurance business (treaty and facultative) and advise on compliance policies.
