Job summary

Austin Industries, Inc. is seeking a Corporate Counsel at its Austin Industrial corporate headquarters in La Porte, Texas.

The Corporate Counsel will provide legal support to Austin Industrial including senior management, operations, risk management, and other departments, with potential support to Houston area operations and corporate initiatives. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating contracts, managing claims and litigation, performing legal due diligence and research, advising

Qualifications

• JD degree required and bar admission in Texas.
• Minimum five years of substantial practical experience in law.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including prime contracts, purchase orders, subcontracts, project agreements and other transaction documents.
• Manage claims and litigation, advise management, coordinate with outside counsel, support insurance matters, respond to discovery, and strategize for economical dispute resolution.
• Perform legal due diligence and research for transactions and disputes; advise senior management and departments on legal and business issues.
• Conduct training for project teams and report to senior management on legal matters and operation strategies.
• Limited travel within the United States as needed; report to VP/Executive General Counsel.
