PlanetArt is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to guide the business on data privacy, consumer protection, advertising compliance, and complex commercial transactions across its ecommerce brands. The role partners with Marketing, Technology, Product, and Operations to balance risk with growth.

The ideal candidate is a commercially astute attorney with strong communication skills, able to operate in a fast-paced, tech‑driven environment and lead cross‑functional legal initiatives.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar; ability to register as in-house counsel in California.
• 7-9 years of legal experience, including both law firm and in-house.
• Experience with privacy and data protection, consumer protection, advertising law and commercial contracting.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business‑minded legal advice to cross‑functional teams and monitor regulatory developments affecting the business.
• Advise on U.S. state privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, CAN‑SPAM, TCPA) and related marketing requirements.
• Draft, review and negotiate vendor, technology licensing, marketplace, payment processing, logistics, and data‑sharing agreements.
• Assist in managing litigation, arbitration and regulatory inquiries, coordinating with outside counsel.
• Support IP, trademark, and global brand protection, including domain names and open‑source governance.
