Job summary

VERSANT Media is seeking a thoughtful Senior Counsel to join its corporate Privacy Legal team. This role provides product, privacy, and data protection advice across our global portfolio and partners with Product, Technology, Data, Advertising, Marketing, and Security teams.

The attorney will translate legal requirements into practical decisions, support commercial collaborations, and help scale the team with training and playbooks. Hybrid work with strong compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 7+ years of relevant legal experience counseling on product, technology, privacy, data, consumer, and related matters.
• Ability to provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders at all levels and take ownership.
• Willingness to dig into technology, products, business models, and data flows.
• In-house experience counseling product, technology, data, and digital teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide product counseling across the lifecycle from ideation through development, launch, and operation.
• Advise on privacy, consumer protection, AI, marketing, subscriptions, and related laws.
• Translate legal requirements into workable business solutions and risk assessments.
• Support commercial matters by reviewing and negotiating data, privacy, and terms.
• Help the team scale with guidance, playbooks, training, and processes.
• Stay current with legal, regulatory, and technology developments.
